This policy explains what personal information Wisson Robotics collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Wisson Robotics designs and supplies pliable robotic systems, including the Pliabot® platform, for industrial and field applications. For the personal information described in this policy, Wisson Robotics is the controller.

Scope

This policy covers personal information collected through this website, including enquiry forms, document-download requests, newsletter sign-ups, career applications, and the technical data generated when you browse the site.

It does not replace a contract, quotation, non-disclosure agreement or data-processing schedule that we sign with a customer, distributor or supplier. Where those documents say something different about business records, the signed document applies to that relationship. It also does not cover third-party sites that we link to.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Identity and contact details, such as your name, work email, phone number, company and region.
• The content of an enquiry, including the product, application, site conditions or document you ask about.
• Newsletter preferences and the fact that you asked to hear from us.
• Career details you choose to send, such as a CV, portfolio link and the kind of work you are interested in.
• Correspondence that follows from a form, email or phone call.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data such as browser type, device type, language, referring URL and the pages you open.
• First-party attribution data, including landing page, referrer and campaign parameters such as UTM tags, stored in the cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
• Security and diagnostic logs kept by the host, including IP address, where needed to keep the site available and to investigate abuse.

We do not ask you to create a customer account on this website, and we do not intentionally collect special-category data such as health information. Please do not include that kind of information in a free-text field.

How we use it

• To answer an enquiry, arrange a demonstration or trial, and prepare an indicative proposal.
• To send a document you requested, such as a datasheet or brochure.
• To send the newsletter you subscribed to, and to record an unsubscribe.
• To review a job application and keep it on file for the period you agreed to.
• To operate, secure and improve the website, including remembering a language choice.
• To understand which campaigns bring visitors to the site, using first-party cookies.
• To meet legal, tax and record-keeping duties, and to establish or defend a claim.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build profiles for unrelated third-party advertising.

Legal bases

Where a privacy law such as the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of these bases:

• Contract. To take steps you ask for before a contract, such as answering a quote request or considering an application you submitted.
• Legitimate interests. To respond to business enquiries, keep the site secure, measure campaigns, and tell existing contacts about related products, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent. For the newsletter, and for any optional cookie that the law treats as needing consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation. Where we must keep or disclose information to comply with law.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with people who need it for the purposes above:

• Wisson teams in sales, applications engineering, service and recruiting.
• Hosting, email and form providers that process messages on our instructions.
• Professional advisers, where a matter needs legal, audit or insurance review.
• A purchaser of the relevant business, if we reorganise or sell it, under confidentiality terms.
• Authorities, when the law requires disclosure or when it is needed to protect people or the site.

Processors may use the information only on our instructions and must protect it. A list of the main website processors can be requested at the address below.

International transfers

We are based in China and work with customers and colleagues in other regions. Your information may be stored or accessed in China and in the country where you, or the relevant Wisson team, are located.

Where a transfer out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with transfer rules is restricted, we use an approved safeguard such as standard contractual clauses, or we transfer only where a legal exception applies, for example because you asked us to respond to you in that country.

How long we keep it

• Sales and project enquiries. For the life of the conversation and then for up to 24 months, unless a quotation or contract creates a longer record.
• Newsletter records. Until you unsubscribe, and then a short suppression record so we do not email you again.
• Career applications. For up to 12 months where you agreed we may keep them, otherwise only for the hiring process.
• Attribution cookies. 90 days. Server security logs: typically up to 12 months.
• Contract, invoice and warranty records. For the period required by the contract and by tax or product-liability law.

How we protect it

We use access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS) on this website, and vendor agreements that require confidentiality. No internet transmission is completely secure. Please use a work email you control, and tell us promptly if you believe a message to us was sent in error.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal information, to object to certain processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

To make a request, email bd@wissonrobotics.com with the subject “Privacy request” and enough detail for us to find the record. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you. We aim to reply within 30 days, or sooner where local law requires it.

If we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time. If we send you marketing, you can use the unsubscribe link or email us, and we will stop.

Cookies

We use cookies that are needed to run the site, to remember a language choice, and to record first-party campaign attribution. Details, including names and lifetimes, are in the Cookie Policy. Use of the website is also covered by our Terms of Service.

Children

This website is aimed at business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will post any change on this page and update it in the editor. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page follows the date the page was last saved. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will take any extra step the law requires.
